Static site migration.

Rebuild your website as a static site, so it looks and feels the same to visitors – but without a login page or updates to manage. A limited service to help teams avoid wrestling with web and server maintenance in the AI age.

What is a static site?

A static site is built once into plain HTML files and served exactly as they are. There is no PHP, no database and no administrator login exposed to the internet, so you are immediately protected from the class of vulnerabilities that affect WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Magento, Laravel apps and most "page builder" sites generally.

Everything your visitors use carries on working with a static site: contact forms, booking widgets and newsletter sign-ups run through trusted third-party services recommended by us, and your content can still be edited without touching code. Pages load faster, hosting is often free, and you can maintain your website with fewer resources.

Less website to defend.

Most brochure sites are a live application: a database, a login page and plugins from a dozen authors, all running on the internet to keep five pages online. A static site removes the machinery and keeps the pages.

A WordPress-style site

Every visit runs code on a server that somebody has to look after.

  1. Visitor
  2. Web serverpatch me
  3. PHP interpreterpatch me
  4. Theme and pluginspatch me
  5. Databasepatch me
  6. Administrator loginpatch me

Each layer is code on the internet with its own release notes.

5 parts to keep patched

Your static site

Every visit returns a file that was built before anyone asked for it.

  1. Visitor
  2. Content delivery network
  3. A plain HTML file

That is the whole stack. There is nothing else to look after.

0 parts to keep patched

Nothing running server-side

There is no PHP, no database and no administrator login facing the internet. When the next critical flaw lands in the platform underneath your website, it is not your emergency.

Nothing to patch

No plugin updates, no theme conflicts and no message from your host telling you to upgrade before the end of the day.

Faster for your visitors

Plain files served from a content delivery network load quickly on poor connections and older phones, which helps both customers and search.

Cheaper to host

Static files sit on a content delivery network for very little. We host the Turtledove Cyber website this way for nothing at all.

Common questions.

Will the site still look the same?

Yes. We rebuild what you already have, page for page, keeping your wording, branding and structure. If you want design changes, we agree those separately rather than slipping them into the move.

What happens to our contact form?

It keeps working. Forms post to an established third-party service instead of a script on your server, and we test every form before handover. Booking widgets, newsletter sign-ups and analytics are reconnected the same way.

Can we still edit the content ourselves?

Yes. Edit pages and publish updates without writing code.

What if we need a shop or member accounts?

Then a static site may not suit the whole website, although parts of it often still do. The best thing to do is get in touch and we can have a chat about whether there’s security value to realise for your website.
